Hi,

I've found my way here after first joining Watchuseek, then being referred to Omega Forums, then Canadian Watch Collector, and now here! I'm in Canada, so it's slightly trickier to find things in this country.

I turned 40 not so long ago and want to get a watch to celebrate this milestone.

I started with a fairly broad list of brands including Ulysse Nardin, JLC, Omega, Frederique Constant, Universal Geneve. What I ended up gravitating toward was Tudor and their watches from the 1940's - 60's. The references that I like most are the 7809, 7965, and 951 and with some or all Arabic numbers and with the very fine minute track. I want something automatic, non-date and straightforward looking. The minute track on some of those models speaks to my concern with precision as a furniture maker. The Arabic numerals add quite a lot of character compared with indices.

Any help finding one of these examples would be great!

Also is there a search function within the forum here? I couldn't find one.

Thanks!

Derek
