Icon2 My Seiko Royal Oak Day-Date

This is the most accurate Seiko ever made. Ever.

This watch is what the Rolex Oysterquartz wishes it could be. Tongue in cheek here. I love the Oysterquartz Day-Date. They made beautiful use of different materials for the dial and solid precious metal for the case and bracelet. This watch is gold plated steel although with a high quality and thick plating that holds up.

What I love about this watch is the golden parchment paper dial that changes with light, the tone on tone day and date wheel, the high strength steel case and the applied minute markers on every single minute which I absolutely adore. The watch is still very accurate and the seconds hand hits each minute marker beautifully.

The bezel and bracelet is very reminiscent of the Royal Oak which I find very amusing. The Royal Oak was released in 1972.

Seiko Superior Twin Quartz 9983-7000 from 1979.
