FS: 1957 Rolex GMT-Master Tropical 6542 with Bakelite Bezel

Serial #: 322XXX

Description: Case: The case shows light wear overall and is in excellent condition featuring wide prominent bevels. The blue and red bakelite bezel is in excellent condition for its age. It has some cracking and some delamination present on the underside of the insert. Dial: The newer glossy gilt service dial has aged to a vivid golden brown tropical patina. The lume has aged to a warm creamy hue. The hands have been relumed and color-matched to the dial. Bracelet: The newer 10 link USA rivet bracelet is excellent and shows only light stretch for its age. The clasp is stamped with a 1976 date code. Accessories: None. Notes: There isn't much I can say about this watch that the photos don't already say. The ocean blue of the bezel, the sunset golden dial, the sharp and honest case. It all plays off each other and combines to create that ineffable beauty that time and only time can create.
