I've been enjoying reading this post.... I bought my watch in 1970 and have worn it ever since. Rolex had it for service a few times in the "early years" , like 25 years ago. In the last 25 it's been serviced locally. The crystal has been replaced probably 4 times over the years along with o rings, other than that it still runs like a charm. The numbers on the bezel lost thier black paint a long time ago. I just have an after market braclet on it now as the original and the diving expansion strap are stretched to the point where I don't trust them
