RSC Service Question

When you send a watch in to RSC for service that has a random serial number, do they tell you the year of the watch on the paperwork that eventually comes back?

I'm trying to find out how to definitively date a watch that is random. It's fairly easy to find a year range based on clasp and dial variations throughout the years but am not able to nail down a specific year.

Surely their internal databases track that sort of thing, right?
