Very true. I remember when the JC Deep-sea came out, there were literally PAGES of vitriol-filled threads...oh my goodness. You would've thought the watch was an affront to all things sacred in the world of horology. And that's nothing compared to when the original LV-C was introduced. Yikes.

However, I'm going to watch what happens with the new GMT with interest. Yes, there is a ton of backlash, but something tells me this might be different than the usual TRF tidal wave of hate followed by multitudes of joyous incomings.

Speaking for myself only, the crown on the left side of the case is a deal breaker, (as much as I tried to love my Pelagos LHD, I could never get past that) and that doesn't even take into account the date window at the 9 o'clock position. Let's face it, watches are about aesthetics as well as performance, and, well, I think there is a core of enthusiasts who will never, ever warm up to that piece.

Just my two cents.
