On the list? Local ad story

So I recently visited my local AD. I have only bought 1 rolex there but it was 15 years ago. I told him I was interested in a WG sub and the new GMT and he put down all my information and told me he would do his very best. I asked about waiting time in general and he said that the most popular models could in theory be 10 years. However he said that the WG sub might be only 6 months if I was lucky.

So my question is, Am I really on the list or do they just give hope to everyone? I know he put me on the list but is it just the list of people that never get a watch? From what I read it's nearly impossible to buy from AD with little or no purchase history and after all I only bought one watch 15 years ago.

All to do is wait and see but just curious about your thoughts :)
