Milgauss periodic service

Hello,

I purchased a brand new Rolex Milgauss GV in 2012, and have been wearing it every day since, except for 1 year during lockdown.

Recently, my watch started lagging behind, and many days when I wake up, I find it stopped and need to wind it up.

So I guess it is time to send my watch for periodic service. However, I learned that such service takes a few weeks, and Rolex does not have an official service in Turkey, nor does it in any European country I frequently visit.

I talked with an official Rolex retailer in Turkey and they told me they provide such service, but they charge a very high amount. Considering that they are only an official retailer and NOT an official Rolex service center, do you think that I should instead have my watch serviced by another service shop that charges a reasonable fee? Do you have any similar experience?

Thank you!
