what are my options

Hello everyone!
About a month ago, I had no intention of buying a watch. But a couple of life events later, I've decided to carpe the diem, and started to look into Rolex.
I spent some time doing some online research, and settled for the stainless steel daytona with black dials (I don't have facebook or instagram and don't follow the trends I just love the engineering behind the movement).

Fast forward to today, I've been to 5 countries, visited a dozen of store and it's been a huge disappointment, I'm headed back home empty handed. My local AD told me they receive about 5 pieces a month, but in the meantime, they add 50 folks to the waitlist.

So the question here is, what are my options?
- can I enroll on a waitlist with an out of state AD? Do I need to be present?
- how about AD from different countries? Once available, can I buy over the phone and have them ship it?
- I don't have anything else to purchase at the moment (maybe more watches in the future), so I'm not sure how to build a relationship with an AD
- 2nd hand is out of the question
