Dark INCOMING just in time for Halloween
Couldn't get the Tudor Black Bay Ceramic out of my mind since trying one out at my AD nearly three months ago https://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=864313 This is a watch that looks WAY better live than it does in photos. You'll hear that over and over from owners. It just wows you in the metal (well ceramic LOL)
Found a good deal on a pre-owned model complete with stickers that honestly I doubt was ever worn. Originally purchased in May this year so tons of warranty left. First impressions, I really love it. It gives that beautiful dark black vibe but (and this is an importang "but") the dial is extremely legible. The hands and idices just pop off the dial and no problem reading the time. At night the lume is amazing, like most Tudors. The dial itself is a jet black with just the right amount of sheen. The weight is reduced thanks to the ceramic case. I really enjoy the sand blasted look of the case and the tiny polished section at top of the case running lug to lug. The watch is a joy to wind like pretty much all Tudors with that big crown and no guards. Just a beautiful and sleek look all around. They did a couple great things on this model that I hope they extend to the whole Black Bay 41 lineup. The overall thickness of the watch has been reduced and what I really like is they have shaved some of the height off the case sides. You can really see and feel the difference vs the standard Black Bay 41's. I also like the addition of the display case back that shows off the METAS certified chronometer blackened movement! Only complaint I can come up with so far is the standard strap is pretty short. I have a 7.5" wrist and I'm on literally the last hole of the strap. I'm also not a big fan of how Tudor deployments point the loose end of the strap toward the body. I just have never understood why they do that. The rubber/leather hybrid strap is really nice quality and comfortable though. Love the small touches like the cream color stitching that matches the hands and the rubber on the underside protecting the strap from sweat. high quality strap for sure. I already have an order in for a Vanguard rubber strap that I plan to use as the primary strap. Also plan to wear it on the supplied fabric strap. I'll try to get that on later today and add a couple photos. But really happy with this one. I have a feeling this will be seeing a lot of wrist time and excited to have a full black watch like this |
