Pay when in waitlist?
Dear guys!
I just entered my 30s and decided to purchase my first Rolex. I visited an AD in Chicago and was put on to waitlist for a Daytona. The SA told me it would take more than one year. When I told this to a friend of mine who owns several Rolex, he said I would probability stay on the waitlist forever unless I buy thousands of jewelry from that AD. I decided just wait and see what happens. About 1 month later, my friend told me he got an allocation for a rose gold black dia 40 Yacht-Master, and he asked me if I liked it. He said he could buy and send it to me if I pay him the price plus 500 for dinner with the SA. I accepted the offer, but after I sent him the money he told me the warranty card would be from last year Sep since he paid when he got into the waitlist, and SA charged to put him on a "real" waitlist. I don't think he would give me a fake watch because we have known each other for years and we work in the same company, but I feel I get fooled that he just sold me one of his old watches that he hardly wears. What are your guys opinions? |
