Winding the date backwards.

Is it bad for a watch movement to wind the date and or day backwards?
I'm talking as a general rule. I frequently cross the international date line and on the eastwards journey lose a day necessitating putting the date back a day.
I've got several watches I need to do this with (rolex GMT II, Tudor date/day, Grand Seiko quartz).
Does it vary between different movements?
Thanks for any input.
