Question About Polishing Brushed Link, and Brushing a Polished Link

Hi All,

Long story short, trying to help out a friend that is selling his watch (a 36mm OP)

The watch has a brushed bracelet, polished on the side of the links.

He wants to sell his complete set, but he is short 1 link, and the spare link he has is actually brushed on the side unlike his bracelet (mistake from 3rd party dealer?)

I have a couple of questions, this way I can help him out:

1) Can a simple cape cod cloth polish the fully brushed side of the link?

2) I want to provide him with a spare link I have, but it is polished in the middle (from Daytona)- How can I "brush" the polished area so it can match the rest of the watch? The link itself fits as I matched it up to his bracelet.

Thank you in advance for any help!
