Unexpected birthday surprise!

So it's my birthday today. I got off work a little early, and on my way home, I decided to stop at a local Rolex AD. I have no purchase history at this store, and it was my first time visiting this location.

I looked around for a bit and saw some models on display, including a Submariner. All the display models were for exhibition only. I was already expecting everything to be out of stock.

After a few minutes, I spoke with the manager and told him that I have been wanting a Submariner for a while now. I told him that I have been in contact with a couple of ADs in the area, and that I have been waiting for almost 2 years for a call, but haven't had any luck.

He told me to wait for a moment, while he went to the back room. He came back holding a Rolex tray in his hand, with a cloth cover on top. I asked him, "What's this?" He uncovered the tray, and it was the exact model Submariner I've been wanting. He says, "It's all yours."

At first I thought he was joking, but he said that he was serious. I pulled out my drivers license from my wallet and I told him to look at my date of birth. He says, "Oh wow! Happy birthday!"

I said to him, "This is a sign. The timing couldn't have been more perfect. I'll take it!"

Paid for it, did the paperwork, and got it sized to my wrist. It was so cool seeing the warranty card with my birthday on it.

Went home and I was like a little kid on Christmas morning.

Opened up a nice bottle of scotch, and admired my new watch in the evening. I loved it!
