Submariner Dial and Hands Questions
I'm new to timepiece ownership. I want to learn more about what I have. If you know, let me know if you think I'm on the right track or totally off base with my thoughts.
SS - 16800 Sub is from 1984. Since the dial and hands have no patina this was either in a safe for the last 30+ years or the dial and hands were replaced before I bought it. TT-16613LN Sub is from 1991 or 1992. The hands and dial has some patina. It doesn't glow at night. So I'm thinking they are original. BUT, when I study these two watches side by side, the white part of the minute hands are different thicknesses and the seconds hand circle is closer to the end of the hand on the TT from 1991 as compared to the SS from 1984. Do these differences appear correct to you? I apologize for all my incorrect terminology. I'll get better with time. |
