The reason it was announced last week and before the season, was because that was the last day HAM had to exercise the exit clause in the 2 year contract he signed just last year. Without question, the internal team dynamics at both Mercedes and Ferrari will be interesting to watch this season.

In other news, currently over half the drivers on the grid (12 to be exact), do not have contracts to drive in F1 for 2025. This is going to be one of the silliest of silly seasons IMO.

Red Bull will have a meeting Friday with all it's top officials to discuss the Horner situation. Several reports out of Europe have written that there is a post Detrich M. power struggle happening between Horner and Dr. Marko... I can't imagine RBR getting rid of Horner when everything is running so smoothly coupled with the fact they are just over a year away from embarking on their own engine program....
