One hell of an incoming
I've always loved the design and aesthetics of the vintage Newman Daytonas - however i've always had a preference of wearing the sturdier, 6 digit pieces (probably an unpopular opinion, i know!)
So when Rolex released the Le Mans edition last year, with such strong callbacks to the design language aesthetics of the vintage newman daytonas (the subdial markers and fonts, the black and white color combo in particular), I knew I had to have it. Was not an easy journey, but with a little help of some friends, managed to make this happen earlier this year. This is definitely the best Rolex i've ever had the pleasure of getting my hands on - a perfect combo of vintage aesthetics with modern sturdiness. I also really love how the dial can look lacquered one minute, and sunburst the next. Tremendous stuff. |
