I've been looking for this one for a long time! First I wanted a Ref 1680 "red" submariner, but as you know they can expensive and I'm not a fan of the tall crystal and no quick-set date. In doing my research, I stumbled on the 16800 with the matte dial. Every time I saw one I liked, they would sell almost instantly. Well one day the planets aligned and Tropical Watch had this beauty on display and I clicked to buy it right away! I love the patina, the dial, and the bezel are pristine, the pip matches the hands, the crystal is flawless and it's keeping almost perfect time. The hands have a little corrosion, but not noticeable with the naked eye. This is the one!
