the time knob of my Pepsi GMT master came out help please

Hey guys I really need your help on this one. I have an old GMT master the Pepsi edition(blue and red). Well today I was going to adjust the time since
I haven't worn it in a couple of days and once I unscrewed the knob for the time I can't remember if I turned but when I pulled I was
Left with the whole piece on my hand but out of the watch. I went ahead and put it back in but now I can't adjust the time
And it feels kind of rough when I turn it. Please help me I don't want to have take it to a jeweler and pay a fortune or damage it myself
