Omega takes another shot at opening an Omega Boutique in Boston . . .
Yesterday morning, I was making my weekly commute from OMA back to BOS as part of my project in Lincoln, NE:
![]() After landing at BOS, I headed to Newbury St. for my coffee run since I had a tight connection at DTW. When I made it to Newbury St., I was pleasantly surprised to see this: ![]() Of course, I had to make my coffee run first: ![]() But I immediately headed down to the boutique to take a visit: ![]() ![]() ![]() I recently saw the new black dial Seamaster Diver 300M at the South Coast Plaza back in December: ![]() ![]() However, I decided to take another peak since I'm quite tempted to add one to the collection: ![]() ![]() More importantly, they also had the new steel dial in the display case: ![]() ![]() Although there wasn't a Speedmaster Pilot in the display case, they had one in the back: ![]() ![]() Omega previously had a boutique at the Natick Mall, which is approximately 10 miles west of Boston. At the time, perhaps Omega was too cheap to pay the required rent on Newbury St. Yet, that's where all the luxury retailers are located within walking distance. It closed around December 2016 / January 2017. I recall being excited when the new Trilogy collection was announced and calling this boutique only to discover it had permanently closed. Hopefully, Omega learned from that experience and this will be a boutique for the long-term: ![]() The next rumored brand to be coming to Newbury St. appears to be Jaeger-LeCoultre. We shall see . . . |
