Sailor Pro Gear King Of Pens + new case

It’s been a couple of months now since adding the Sailor KOP to my small collection.

I find it an absolute delight to use, and I now find myself switching between pens throughout the day.

Thank you to everyone for all the inputs and thoughts on my other thread about finding a second fountain pen to complement the Platinum Izumo.

The two pens are both a joy to use, and feel so different on paper, I have no doubt I will continue to maximise use of them both for some time until I add a third fountain pen to the collection.

The nib on the sailor feels so soft compared to the platinum - is this about as soft as nibs get ?(without being a specific flex / music nib)

I’ve seen various you tube videos, some which talk up the amount of line variation, others that suggest not to risk achieving that with it. But I do find with fairly normal pressure I get a lot of line variation and ink shading when using.

I have a small selection of Sailor Shikiori inks, and have now been mostly using the dark green Tokiwa-matsu as it pairs nicely with the pen case I made, and contrasts vs the dark brown ink I have in the platinum usually.

At some point, I need to open the grip/ section on the KOP, as some ink has managed to get behind there. However I’ve seen various information about glue etc. being used so not sure how smart that is to try.

A few photos below of pen and case !
