TT 16013 Rolex USA Service questions...
What is the approx cost to have Rolex completely service a mid-80s TT Datejust (16013)?
I've read that Rolex will completely clean, lubricate, time the movement. Polish the case and bracelet, ultrasonic cleaning, etc. Are crown and crown tube and gaskets changed? Also, I noticed some dark spots around the date window (is this normal with age or indicative of a problem?). Could be poss corrosion (possible entrance from crown)? Or oil? It's driving me nuts! It's all I can see now. Is this a sign that Rolex will require a new dial be installed? How much? The watch does seem to keep great time. But when I attempt to manually wind it the winding seems too stiff. Is this a bad sign, or fairly commonplace. And will this be "fixed " during a complete service? Sorry for all of the questions, but I'm trying to decide if this watch will be a keeper or not. And how much to invest in it. Last edited by Big Nutty; 3 October 2009 at 02:00 PM..
