How much for a used PAM 48?

Hello folks.

This is my first venture into the Panerai section of this great forum, so be gentle with me.....

After almost 25 years of wearing Rolex watches, I am really considering a PAM 48.

I started looking at the Panerai range a couple of years ago and really like the rugged, simplistic, no-nonsense look plus the option of being able to change straps at will.

My question is simply; how much for a good used one?

I appreciate that the best option is to buy one in America but with the USD not being great against the GBP, plus the Import Tax, I will probably have to buy one on this side of the pond.

I have been offered one from a private seller (not a member here) for £2200 GBP. The watch is as follows:

1998 PAM 48. 40mm C series. Box and Papers plus new and unused black Croc strap on deployment, new and unused black Calf strap and 2 used GEF straps - one tan leather and the other black plastic.

In USD the price equates to $3650.

How does the price sound for a watch of this age?

I have not physically seen the watch, although the photos are very good and I am assured there are no dings, scratches or marks on the piece.

Any help, pointers, advice etc will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance.

Colin.
