A new rubber strap.
This is Ted from Ted Su Fine straps.
I will like to share my excitement and joy with you, please bear with me now. This is my first rubber strap, and one of my dreams come true. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I have always like to dream. A "different" and yet practical rubber strap was one of my dreams. Inspired by Submarine's water intake valve, the strap has "fins" on both sides. They are not only for looks, but allow your wrist to breath while in humid weather or during outdoor activities. I found most rubber straps tend to stick to wrist and cause skin to sweat. The biggest feature of the strap is the lining that wrap around the watch. The idea was from G-shock watches, but I don't want to hide the beautiful outlines of the Pams that we love. At the bottom of the strap, there's the "grid" which I find pretty interesting too. The design was inspired by vintage diving helmets. This rubber strap takes me a little more than a year to design and fabricate the mold. Comparing to the mold, the design is relatively straight forward thanks to today's high tech softwares. The mold itself is the big challenge because of the outline of the strap, the fins and the lining which wrap around the watch. I want the strap to be as high quality as possible, thus there can not be any burr. Countless hours were spent to make sure of that. I was so excited when the prototype came out and can't sleep for days. (sorry to the members who are still waiting for your custom straps to be ready...I promise I will have them ready when my hype is over) The strap is not ready yet as I am still working on the mold, but some simulated pictures are not bad for now. Please take a look at the strap and I welcome you to comment on it. This is my first rubber strap, but it won't be the last. Thank you. Ted Su(TW) |
