I've looked off and on at the Pelikan M1000 / M1050 for quite some time. Never really searched one out specifically, but when I stumbled upon a new one, new in the box with stamped papers, with an 18C EF nib, I went ahead and "jumped."

I had the choice of the black barrel, or the green striated... I choose the green and gold cap. I wonder if that was the "right" choice...? I don't care, since I like the green barrel.
