The following is a list of things you can do to keep your rolex scratch free.

1. Avoid running in to things.
2. Make notice of your soroundings and anticipate. (especially desks/ arm chairs & tables)
3. sleave buttons/ cufflinks/ cloth/ armhair & even microfiber will all cause hairline scratchmarks over time. Short sleaves are prefered. Avoid sticking your watch hand into your trouser or coat pockets.
4. When or if its dirty resist/ avoid whiping down the watch.
5. Dont use your nails to remove dirt.
6. Clean the watch by washing it in water with a mild handsoap.
7. If possible dry it with a hairdryer.
8. In areas where the water is treated rinse the watch with distilled water afther having cleaned it in tap water.
9. Most importantly: If you can not resist whiping down the watch; only use a natural chamois. (not the synthetic version) The chamois should always remain dry and never come in contact with water; or it will loose its natural softness. Unlike cloth & fiber; natural chamois will not scratch shiny surfaces.
