laymans eyes

I was driving home yesterday after watching the movie "hot fuzz" with my friend.

So as i'm driving, on the dashboard is the new sports model catalogue for rolex professional range.

My friend picks it up, flips through it and as he gets to the seadweller picture, he looks at the picture and then he looks at my hand on the steering wheel and goes "you got the same watch". I was wearing a ss sub and his eyes were less then maybe a foot away.

It made me realise with a big smile that the little things we rolex addicts focus on, the general public totally glosses over. We may spend hours searching for "fat hands", "z series", "no lug holes", "flat s", "new clasp", "cyclops or no cyclops" BUT to the lay person, they only recognise it as "a rolex".

It gave me a big smile.
