Rolex are playing games!
A strange thing has just happened in the UK.
Yet again Rolex have surprised us all: This time last year they released a very, very limited amount of Seadwellers with a very late V serial number to a bunch of selected AD's, who went on to sell them for a small fortune, being that they were the last ever SD's with the latest possible serial numbers. Well they have done it again. Over the past 2 days I have been offered about 10 (ten in number) 16610's, being the OLD STYLE Rolex Submariner(non Ceramic bezel) which have apparently just arrived from Rolex to a number of Rolex AD's throughout the EU. (I have seen three December invoices which would prove that this is the truth.) They all appear to have the very latest RANDOM serial numbers and are now priced at a list of £3820 in the UK and more in Europe. Although none of the AD's wanted a penny less than £5000 for them (It is almost like they were told to ask for that figure???) on the basis that they will be THE SUBS to own/collect. Are we all being taken for a ride by Rolex? Have they the potential to (re)produce any model at the drop of a hat, or are they genuinely supporting their favourite AD's in these times of recession? I tend to hear much more than most, but this time I for one am baffled. Rolexroz |
