Aboriginal Art
Australian Aboriginal Art has some very interesting styles and pieces.
I didn't until now own any. As with most things it is important to get the authentic item with a certificate of authenticity and a photograph of the artist and their art. As a piece of art each painting is unique and obviously hand painted. As they say art is in the eye of the beholder. Some I really love and some.....well I'm not so sure. So without further ado here is my piece (46x67cm): AboriginalArt.jpg The painting is called "Bush Medicine Leaves" The painting represents particular leaves from a plant species, which contain medicinal properties. The women gather the leaves to use as bush medicine to treat a variety of ailments (sores, bites, boils). The leaves are boiled, kangaroo resin added and mixed into a paste and then applied. AboriginalArt3.jpg Once framed and hung is should look great. Prices can vary a lot depending upon the size of the work, the artist and where you go to buy.
