Sorry, but I'm a little confused here. My V-Explorer II black has clearly visible white gold hands and markers. The new balck model also appears to use white gold except a small part of the hands seem to be painted. The polar model however appears to be have painted hands and markers both the new and old models.

Is that correct? Are the painted hands and markers on the polar model paint over white gold? Is that also true for the previous model? And if so, what's the benefit of using white gold?

Sorry if this sounds ameteurish, just not clear to me.
