What was your 1st 'serious' watch before Rolex?

Just like the list of exes. I am sure as a watch enthusiast, you will remember your past watches and amongst those, there will be one that was your first 'serious' watch. Just like your first serious gf after a few puppy love
In any case, don't bother too much with the definition of 'serious'. Because I want to know why you define it as 'serious'.

Mine was the Tag Heuer Kirium.

Before the Tag, I had a string of Casios, a Swatch, a Seiko and a Citizen.

To me, the Tag was my first serious watch because it was it was a graduation gift from my parents and my first adult sized SS watch. I said adult sized SS watch is because my very first watch when I was 7 was a SS Casio, the bracelet resembles a jubliee bracelet

I wear the Tag regularly for 9 years until I acquired the GMT IIc with my own moolah. From time to time, I rotate the Tag with my GMT IIc. I still love the Kirium to bits.

So what's your story prior to the Rolex?
