Last year I bought my first "Luxury / High End" watch. It was incidentally a Seamaster that I was after. I debated the Quartz V Auto thing and at the back of my mind I had a nag that if I went Quartz I would still be wanting an Auto (I don't know why but no battery appeals to me as I'm fascinated that a watch with tiny parts and gears can give such accurate time with no battery power)

Anyhow I went Auto and glad I did as I prob would have flipped the Quartz by now.

Of course this all irrelevant if you have a tight budget. Looks wise they both look awesome and for some people thats all that matters. Of course with a Quartz you can take it off and it will keep accurate time for many years without worrying about winding etc.

Maybe your budget and disposable income will be of greater assistance in your decision. You could always try on both in the shop too to compare

Here is mine (current model but from 2006)
