Stages in life - ADULT HUMOUR
Joe is a student. While on summer holiday, he goes to Hong Kong with a group of friends. While there, they decide to go to some of the seedier bars in the city. After copious beers, Joe ends up paying for the services of a lady of the night.
As they are engaged in their activity, he is working very hard. Every time Joe works hard, the lady screams "Wang hi kee". He assumes that this is a sign of encouragement, so he works very hard indeed. The lady shouts "Wang hi kee" an awful lot. Joe is very pleased with himself. He tells his friends the next day over cans of Coke and pizzas. Years later, Joe is a merchant banker. One day, he is playing golf with some Chinese clients. He wishes to impress them, as they may place a very large amount of business with Joe's bank. On the 9th hole, one of the clients shoots a hole in one. Joe is very impressed, and sees an opportunity to impress the clients with his cultural awareness. He shouts "Wang hi kee" very loudly, just like the lady did all those years ago back in Hong Kong. The client, having just accepted the congratulations of his Chinese colleagues, turns around to Joe with a quizzical look on his face and says "What do you mean, it's the wrong hole?" |
