FS: Seiko Grand Seiko Quartz $1650 shipped CONUS

I purchased this watch purely to sample or evaluate the GS line's quality before springing for a higher end GS. Got to say, I'm more than impressed and actually hate to let this one go.

I'd heard about the accuracy, and I know it's a quartz, but the previous owner, in his review /report on this very watch reported something like -.5 seconds over 3 or 4 months. Seiko rates it at 10 secs +/- a year. After checking it against the US Time clock for 2 weeks, I felt like I was checking the US Time Clock against this Seiko. On every tick around the dial, the second hand lands dead center on each indice. When the second hand hits the 15 second mark the minute hand is showing 25% movement between the indices, When the second hand hits the 30 second mark, the minute hand is 1/2 way between the indices, and so on all the way around the dial.

The date wheel supposedly changes the date display in something like 1/2000th of a second - i haven't stayed up to check that, but frankly, from what i've observed, i don't doubt it.

Watch itself is in mint condition - the bracelet has a couple scratches down by the clasp from a previous owner's resizing and one screw is out of the link (link pins have capture screws). It's way too small for me to re-insert. But it is included with the spare links.

For a really good review / report on this watch, as i'm not sure if this forum allows links to other watch forums, google for " avusblue SBGX063 " - it's definitely worth reading. And this is the very watch reviewed in that thread - he's also got better shots of it but avusblue was my seller on this GS Quartz.

Heck, even the movement in this watch is sealed for dust (except for the battery compartment) as the movement is designed for a 50 year service interval!! and definitely understated quality. The hands are hand formed and finished -

Diameter w/o the crown is 37mm, but it wears larger. The heft and presence on your wrist is indescribeable - it is heavy for a watch this size. The quality of the bracelet is easily on par with the Glashutte and IWC bracelets I've owned.

This watch was first purchased June 2011 from an Seiko AD with plenty of warranty remaining.

Inner / outer box, white cardboard sleeve, owner's warranty & user's manual, spare links & original purchase rcpt will come with the watch.

there's a full set of shots at http://s816.photobucket.com/albums/z...cpZZ1QQtppZZ24 - if you'll view the shots in order, i pivoted the watch about 10-15 degrees per shot, so you'll get a 360 degree "walk around" the dial/case

for some reason, a number of shots on the 2nd page of that album aren't showing up - i'll try to repost, but if interested, email me and i can send them

any questions, PLEASE DO NOT PM ME - email me at vze86qtl@gmail.com or call me on my cell 804-502-0449

The watch is in Richmond, VA if anyone cares to inspect

Price: $1650 shipped in the lower 48, NET TO ME.
