Shipping from the States to Australia

Hello Everybody, i've noticed a few Aussie members of this forum, so though somebody might be able to help.
I've been looking around for a slightly used 16610 sub, and its clear that the majority of used Rolex watches are located in the large US market, meaning the watch that is perfect for "you",will be probably located in the States. I know there are a lot of sellers who won't ship outside CONUS due to the red tape that may or may not be involved, so my question is to anyone in Australia who has purchased a used Rolex from the US.
What extra costs (above purchase price) and/or processes are involved with purchasing from the states, and shipping to Australia? Is it straight forward, or a red-tape nightmare?
