New Day Date Story

Hi Guys

A guy came into where I work , BMW car dealership, whom I know well .

He loves his Rolex watches , but is not a WIS.

He has an 18 K day date that he wears on occasions , ans also a stainless pre ceramic sub date as his daily beater , the day date is mostly for best.

Anyhow he came into the dealership on friday ,2 days ago, wearing his sub .

He came over to my desk and I starting talking to him about his sub and he told me that it had just come back from Rolex from a service , and I commented that it looked mint, which it did .

He then asked me if my Rolex contact could get him a blue ceramic TT sub like mine and that he was prepared to pay £1000 plus his day date which I had seen and admired about 3 months ago .

I then said how about my TT blue ceramic sub and £2000 for his day date and he said yes.

This took me back a little because it was so quick , but he explained that he loved his sub but felt that the day date was too small for his wrist , he is a large unit .

I arranged to go round to his house that night with my box papers etc and to view the day date more closely to check it out etc .

After my tea I , about 8pm I rang him and said I was on my way but he said it would be too late so I said ok I would view it another time . I then said to my wife that he has probably realised that the deal was heavily stacked in my favour and got cold feet and had i forgot about it.

The next morning at work I got aphone call asking me if I was still interested in the watch and I said yes and that I would call in after work on saturday .

I drove the 35 miles to his house thinking I bet it is stretched or an old style etc etc.

When I arrived at his house he took me to his office and , showed me on a winder the day date.

WOW, it was a Z serial , immaculate Yellow Gold Day Date with a diamond dot dial , retail £21000.00 , box papers etc dated december 2007 , with the engraved re haut , all for £2000 plus my 9 month old TT blue ceramic sub.

I couldnt believe it , that for once in my life , I had got a mega deal on a watch after all the money I had lost over the years flipping them .

I gave him the cash and drove home with the Day Date on and when I got home I took 3 links out and cleaned it in hot soapy water and it is AWESOME .

The original receipt was in the box for 80,000 dubai whatever and he got discount of 20000 dubai whatever, so he paid about £10000 uk pounds for the watch in December 2007.

The only downside is that it is half past six in the morning and I can not post any pics till after work tonight , but rest assured Guys I will , so you can all see the watch because I realise that a post without pics is worthless so please be patient Guys till tonight .

Sorry for the long story Guys just wanted to share it with you all as I still can not believe that I have a Day Date with Diamond Dial , like new etc etc that stands me about £8000 , and looks awesome on .

Thanks for reading this and look forward to your comments
