The new SS GMT-Master 11670 is NOT anniversary!
This has been in at least 4 recent threads from what I can remember. People are still claiming to own, be put on list for, or look for a SS 50th Anniversary GMT-Master II. I hope this can make it clear and maybe we could make this a sticky for a while?
The only OFFICIAL(though it doesn't even say so in the price list) 50th Anniversary GMT-Master II is the 116718. Oyster Perpetual GMT-Master II, 40mm, 18kt. yellow gold, special 24-hour bezel and hand, independently adjustable 12-hour hand, 31 jewel chronometer movement, synthetic sapphire crystal, with special Oysterlock bracelet 78208. This is the one with green dial. Current retail of $22,750 USD The new SS GMT-Master II, reference number 116710, which was introduced at Basel 2007, was never announced to be an 'anniversary' edition. It is often mistaken to be one because of the green second time-zone hand and GMT-Master II lettering on the dial. This model is just a new, arguably better version of the GMT-Master in stainless steel. Oyster Perpetual GMT-Master II, 40mm, stainless steel, special 24-hour ceramic bezel and hand, independently adjustable 12-hour hand, 31 jewel chronometer movement, synthetic sapphire crystal on the 78200 bracelet. Current retail of $5,950 USD Of course, let's not forget the 116713. Though rarely mistaken for being an anniversary edition from what I have seen, this beauty still features the green hand and lettering and guess what, it is still not an anniversary edition. Oyster Perpetual GMT-Master II, 40mm, stainless steel case, 18kt. yellow gold bezel, special 24-hour bezel and hand, independently adjustable 12-hour hand, 31 jewel chronometer movement, synthetic sapphire crystal on the 78203 bracelet. Current retail of $8,925 USD I hope this clears the confusion to some of you and help in one way or the other. Kirill. |
