Ernest Jones stopping selling Rolex

I've just been into my local Ernest Jones store in the UK and was told that that store has stopped selling Rolex and the rest of the chain is stopping later this year.

My question is, does a chain like EJ have to buy Rolex watches and stock them prior to sale? If so, I wonder if there will be any reductions later in the year to sell of stock??
