1st Post, Rolex Noob! Which Sub? Help!
Hmmm. I have a lot to learn, perhaps you fine fellows can help?
Please do forgive the following preamble, but I think it's necessary to understand where I'm coming from. Ok, my last rather hasty thread (and it's responses) got me thinking, perhaps I shouldn't rush things when getting my first Rolex. I know I want a Non Date sub, as a cyclops is just not for me. However, which Sub to get? The 5513? The 14060? or the 14060M? I don't think I want the newer 114060, just because of the size (I understand it's a tad bigger?! thicker?, bigger lugs?) Re the 5513, I was thinking not going the totally vintage route as yet, I wanted to get a newer lume non tritium dial, as I want my watch to age with me..... So that leaves the 14060 or the 14060m. I decided I didnt want the 14060M because of the extra COSC lines on the dial, so that left me with the 14060. Now, in the 14060 I thought about either getting a U serial or A serial as perthis article: http://forums.watchuseek.com/f23/tri...-a-446143.html As I liked the 'Swiss' thow back to the 5508, if that article is correct. However If I was to go down this route I would like to get the best example available, in mint condition and with a complete set of papers, boxes etc.. Failing that, I was thinking of getting the last Non Cosc version which I believe was the Serial Z, again mint condition and complete... However there seems to be issues with this model from some people (as there is no rehaut engraving?) Arghhhhhhhhhhh! (takes deep breath) So.... My question is: Is my reasoning sound, or (as I supect being a noob) am I getting this all back to front and getting the wrong sub?! HELP! |
