Need close inspection of 1655 case engravings
This 1655 is being offered by a high feedback seller who may not know there is an issue (if there is one).
http://www.ebay.com/itm/ROLEX-EXPLOR...item589827ead8 I think there is a high possibility the case is fake as it appears to have the long E's that are the found in fake cases. If so, the case likely has been artificially banged up to make it look old. Here are 3 comparison pictures: (1) the 4 eras of genuine case engravings from Stefano's blog; (2) the case of the watch being sold; and (3) a known fake case. Note also the clear similarity of the "G" and the "R" in the word "REGISTERED" in the ebay watch and the fake case. Neither of which is found in the genuine engraving examples. Other opinions please!
