Back from RSC

This came back from the Toronto RSC last week. I've held off posting while trying to get some decent pix, but have pretty much given up on that for now so here's an older pic.





The gap at the 6:00 side of the bracelet is now about 1/3 as wide as it was in the above pic, and the RSC worked their magic on the rest of the watch. It shines like new.

We eventually decided against having the dial refinished as Rolex had recommended, wanting to keep it as original as possible.

A couple of interesting things. The polishing cloth that was included when it came back is different from the others we have. No more green border or Rolex in green on it. Rather it's a light cream colour, almost feels like ultra-suede, with the coronet and Rolex embossed in one corner.

Then the box. It came back in the standard cardboard Rolex Service Division box. I called them and mentioned that when my Sub was done last year it was returned in a beautiful hinged box with a padded top, very cool. The girl referred to that as a travel box, and said that those were reserved for solid gold watches and for those that the bill was +$960. Nancy's came in at $599.

After some discussion about the 14k hallmarks all over it, it being the second one we'd had done there in a year, and the probability of Grant's Sub landing there early in the New Year, they agreed to send me one.

Got the travel box yesterday. Interesting how they mark their packages. RCL with their address in green on the label, that's it. Very discreet. No flashing neon lights on the package to advertise what's in it.

All in all, another great (albeit spendy) experience with the Toronto RSC.
