how reliable is forged carbon?

hi guys:

i need your inputs, I've heard that forged carbon is not as reliable as SS and will faded and scratch easily, but of course it'll hide some marks. most importantly, it's can't be fixed.

is this true? what would you pick between 44mm SS or 44mm FC?

thank you so much for your help and i know there are many threads cover this topic already.
