Family Reunion
So, I sent my 16610Y SS Sub off to RSC Toronto for service after 10 years of ownership. There was nothing wrong with it but I didn't want to wait until there was to send it off for more extensive and expensive repairs. My dad subsequently asked me to drop his TT DJ off at the AD for service as well. Last week I finally got the call that my watches were back from the mothership so I went to Raffi Jewellers at Yorkdale Shopping Centre to collect my prizes. While I was there, the salespeople were kind enough to let me borrow a Rolex pad and take some pictures in their Rolex Boutique.
And of course, this was the first meeting between my 16610 and my 116520. The watches looked great. My Sub actually didn't seem that much better than when it left but that's probably a function of it having a fully brushed finish. My dad's Datejust was looking pretty rough when it when back to the mothership. Polished 18K gold centre links and the fact that my dad didn't clean it regularly enough made for a pretty gunky DJ. Thanks to the kind folks at Raffi for indulging my WISness.
