Another Daytona to AP RO thread...
Hi everyone,
I never thought this would happen but I'm slowly being drawn into the Royal Oak models, particularly the 15300 and/or the 15400. I have half a mind to flip my SS Black Daytona for one, and wanted to get some thoughts on this. I always thought that AP was a "fad" type of watch, but after reading up on its history I have come to respect the brand, and the Royal Oak line (I've yet to warm up to the Offshore models, I find them too chunky for my wrist). My current Rolex collection consists of the Daytona, an Exp 1 39mm and an Explorer 2 40mm. I have several other watches from other brands that I consider "iconic" watches from that particular brand. The thing is, would it make good sense to flip my Daytona for the RO? My justification is that I already have two Rolexes, and, I guess at this point in time, I'm aiming for more variety in my collection. I'm also thinking that if the Royal Oak doesn't work for me in the long run, I could always flip it again. In terms of whether I like it enough, yes, I do, I have no problems with the octagonal design, and I don't think that at 41 or 39mm that it would look that showy or fashionable on the wrist. Any thoughts would be much appreciated... Thanks! |
