Looked at a used 16610

Well, I met someone selling his Submariner through Craigslist yesterday. It was an A serial number with X11 on the bracelet. It was in pretty rough shape - dirty too. We met at an AD, and they got upset that we were meeting there, even though he had paid for an appraisal there not long ago.

I told him I was backing out - it would cost me at least $600 for service at RSC to bring it back - plus the gaps between the bracelet links were significant.

What I learned: I like the SEL bands a lot more. The non SEL bracelet felt cheap compared to my new Bluesy. A new Omega PO at $2,300 is a much better deal/watch than an older used Sub for more than that. So, I know now that I will not be buying an older 16610. I think I'm going to save up for a 116710, or buy a PO or Speedmaster, instead. The good news is that I'm no longer "hot and heavy" to be getting a SS Rolex.

Thanks for the continuing education I receive here.
