Which 36mm DJ is best as a dressy watch?

My ‘collection’ so far consists of a ceramic Submariner Date daily wearer and a G-SHOCK beater.

I’d like to add a smaller dressier watch for the office and for semi-formal occasions.

I don’t think a true dress watch (i.e. thin, gold, white dial, time only on a black strap) would get much wrist time, and I don’t want to pay out for a watch I will hardly ever wear.

My idea is to pick up a new 36mm DJ which I hope will be suitable for the office, for semi-formal occasions, and for smart casual occasions, and therefore get more wrist time than a strict dress watch.

There are three contenders:
  • 116200 36mm SS DJ with domed bezel, oyster bracelet, and black stick dial. However, this might be too sporty for semi-formal occasions, I am not keen on the PCLs, and I tend to think that fluted/ jubilee is the more classic look for a DJ.
  • 116234 36mm SS DJ with WG fluted bezel, superjubilee bracelet, and silver or white stick dial. However, IMO in monochrome this is not really dressy enough for semi-formal wear, but too fancy for office or casual wear, and IMO a bit of a feminine style.
  • 116233 36mm TT DJ with YG fluted bezel, TT superjubilee bracelet, and champagne stick or silver stick dial. This is the classic DJ look, and then one I am leaning towards. I think it would work best for semi-formal and office use, and be okay for smart casual. Only real concerns with this is that the superjubilee bracelet is not easy to adjust without removing links, and there is a perception of the TT DJ as an old man’s or used car salesman’s watch.
I’d be interested to see which gets the most votes (or I would be if I had managed to add a poll!), and particularly keen to hear from anyone in their 30s with a TT DJ.
