Does age of the watch matter when purchasing RO?

Hi,

I have an opportunity to purchase a 2005 15300 RO in good condition. I am a bit disappointed to learn that the watch is a 2005, so it's close to 8 years old...compared to say 2011, 2010 which I have no problems accepting.

It's like buying a used car, we always choose newer & low KM cars.. Does the same concept work for watches?

Are there are differences between RO made then and now...things like clasp?

Thanks,
