Need to get caught up on Rolex tech

Hi all:

I haven't visited the forum in some time, and my last purchase was an M-series Sub LV in 2008.

I understand now, that Rolex isn't doing the letter-series serial number anymore, the bracelets and clasps have changed, as have aspects of the movements.

I'll be pulling the trigger on a new, 42 mm Exp II (white dial) from a local AD, as I wanted to add to the stable and it's been a while since I had a new Rolex on my wrist (I know...first world problems).

Anyways, can the cognoscenti among you hip me to the new developments? When I tried on the Exp at the AD's, I was impressed by the new clasp mechanism, a nice improvement. I didn't get into the whole tech talk at the ADs because I was with a friend and we were talking watches in general and the aesthetics of the various Rolex models I was trying to choose from.

Nice to see also, that Rolex went back to the peacock blue dial on the TT Sub; that weird blue they used with the original issue of the ceramic bezel ruined my whole day when I first saw it. I was looking at the TT blue dial Sub, and it's one amazing beauty too.

Anyways, anyone weighing in with the broad strokes new improvements my new Exp II will bring would be appreciated!

best,

Chris
