I grew up in homes built from 1895-1905... Didn't realize just how cool that was until I worked in construction and built new ones. Even when trying to duplicate the old stuff, new homes just seem sterile and heartless to me. To build a new home using the same materials as century old houses would cost a fortune (straight grained fir, mahogany, beech, etc.). Old houses have soul and definitely ROCK!!
