Battery died

I noticed over the weekend my emergency is in need of a battery replacement.. so my question is

1 - do I ship it to breitling myself or bring it to a local AD and have them ship it ?

2 - any idea how much this will cost ? I have heard prices between $400 - $1200

3 - any issues or tips if I am shipping it myself ? like how much should I insure it for ?

4 - and if I do ship it in ? do they just change batteries or change gaskets and give it some kind of overhaul ?
